As an Accounts Assistant in the property industry, you'll play a key role in managing daily financial tasks, ensuring smooth operations within the accounting team. Your work will help keep the financial records accurate and up to date, supporting the overall success of the business. Client Details This is a permanent opportunity with a well-established, privately owned property management business that is experiencing steady growth. Operating as a medium-sized organisation, the company is committed to delivering high-quality services to its clients while maintaining a professional, efficient, and supportive working environment. Description The role offers excellent exposure to senior leadership, with direct interaction and mentorship from both the Finance Director and Financial Controller, providing valuable opportunities for professional development and career progression. • Performing two-stage bank reconciliations across multiple property funds. • Reconciling general ledger accounts and ensuring accuracy of financial records. • Completing service charge fund reconciliations, including investigating Accounts Payable transactions and leaseholder activity. • Arranging and processing transfers where required, such as landlord forward funding and CIS retention reimbursements. • Conducting monthly reviews of landlord loan balances relating to service charge funds. • Preparing and distributing daily cash statements. • Processing tenant refunds, including deposit repayments and rent credit reimbursements. • Managing transfers of deposits to the Deposit Protection Service. • Transferring service charge funds from rent accounts to designated service charge accounts. • Processing inter-company and inter-account transfers. • Handling non-Accounts Payable payments and staff expense claims. • Posting BARX treasury deposits. Profile A successful Accounts Assistant should have: • A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles. • A structured and organised approach to work. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. • Previous experience within a property management environment would be advantageous, although it is not essential.
