Job description

Finding an accountancy practice that genuinely invests in its people can make all the difference to your career. This successful and well-established accountancy practice are searching for an Accounts Assistant to join their office in Burnham-on-Sea firm. Offering a varied workload, ongoing support and excellent opportunities for development, this role would suit someone looking to build a long-term future within practice. As Accounts Assistant, your role will include: -Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies -Preparing bookkeeping records and completing VAT returns -Supporting the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns -Working with cloud accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks -Liaising with clients to resolve day-to-day accounting queries -Supporting senior members of the team with a variety of accounting assignments The successful candidate will already have experience working within an accountancy practice and be keen to continue developing their technical knowledge and client-facing skills. AAT qualifications, or studies towards AAT, ACA or ACCA, would be advantageous but not essential. It’s more important that you are organised, accurate and pro-active, with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
