Accounts Manager

Accounts Manager Suffolk £35,000 - £40,000 An established and growing independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join its close-knit team. This is a hands-on, client-facing position offering the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders and partnerships to larger corporate businesses and high-net-worth individuals. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality accountancy and tax services while helping to support the firm's continued growth and taking on increasing responsibility over time. Role Responsibilities • Manage a portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors. • Prepare bookkeeping records and maintain accurate financial information. • Complete VAT returns and Making Tax Digital (MTD) submissions. • Prepare and submit Self-Assessment tax returns. • Prepare statutory accounts for companies and partnerships. • Prepare company and partnership tax returns. • Provide tax planning support and advice to clients. • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication. • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the practice. Personal Requirements • ACA or ACCA qualified Chartered Accountant, or qualified by experience (QBE). • Previous experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice. • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts preparation and taxation. • Experience preparing VAT, MTD and Self-Assessment returns. • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills. • High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. • A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to take responsibility. • Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team.
