Job description

Our client is a well-established and growing professional services firm, seeking an Accounts Senior to join their Barnstaple office. This is a varied, client-facing role within a general practice environment, offering technical responsibility, exposure to a wide range of clients, and strong opportunities for career development. The position would suit someone proactive who enjoys hands-on accounting work and contributing to a collaborative team. The Role You will work closely with managers and partners to deliver high-quality accounting and tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients. This is a hands-on role where you will take ownership of assignments while also supporting junior colleagues and contributing to overall team development. Key responsibilities include: • Preparing year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities, and limited companies • Preparing VAT returns and assisting with associated client queries • Preparing personal and business tax returns and computations • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support • Supporting managers with the development and mentoring of junior staff • Managing your own workload and ensuring deadlines are met • Working across a range of clients within a general practice environment About You: • ACA / ACCA / AAT part qualified or currently studying • Experience working within an accountancy practice • Strong technical understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance • Confident using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or IRIS • Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach • Highly organised with strong attention to detail • Able to manage competing priorities effectively • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to develop within your career Should you have any questions or wish to apply please do not hesitate to contact Clear IT Recruitment Limited.
