Advanced Hand Therapist

• To continue to develop highly specialist clinical skills, knowledge, and experience through hands-on practice, in-service training sessions, and targeted Personal Development activities identified in the Personal Development Plan. • To maintain personal professional status and accountability by ensuring compliance with all requirements set by relevant professional bodies for registration and licensure, and by adhering to departmental and Trust policies. • To plan and deliver departmental training and educational sessions for staff, promoting professional and personal development across the team, with support from senior colleagues where required. • To ensure effective communication with patients, carers, and all members of the MDT regarding patient conditions, including accurate documentation in line with Trust policies and professional codes of practice. • To mentor, guide, and assess the development of junior therapists, non-qualified therapy staff, and students, ensuring that the team maintains high standards of patient care and clinical practice. • To actively contribute to service improvement initiatives including planned research, audits, and clinical governance, using findings to enhance patient care and service delivery within the hand therapy specialty.
