Opportunity: Help Shape the Future of AI Biology EducationAre you a qualified Secondary Science teacher with a specialised background in Biology? Do you have a passion for educational technology, pedagogy, and safeguarding? We are looking for experienced Biology educators to join a vital national project. You will play a key role in building the benchmarks that ensure AI tutoring tools are safe, scientifically accurate, and pedagogically sound for students across the UK. About the RoleThis is a highly flexible, fully remote role running until 30th September 2026, requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week. Using your subject expertise, you will evaluate AI systems, create biology teaching scenarios, and set the standards by which AI science tools are measured. Your day-to-day will involve designing realistic student-teacher dialogues (covering cell biology, ecosystems, human anatomy, and genetics), developing benchmarking criteria to test the accuracy of biological concepts and terminology, scoring AI responses, and building rubrics to evaluate how effectively the AI explains complex living systems and processes. - Pay Rate: £20 - £30 per hour - Location: Fully Remote (UK) - Hours: 5-10 hours per week (Flexible) Key RequirementsMandatory: - Secondary Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with verified experience teaching Science/Biology in English schools (references required). - Specific experience teaching Year 9 Biology. - Comfortable using web-based platforms, analysing scientific diagrams/data, and adapting to new software. - Your own laptop and a reliable internet connection. Highly Valued (But Not Required): - Safeguarding Expertise: Designated Safeguarding experience (e.g., current/former DSL or Deputy DSL, or Level 3+ safeguarding training with practical child protection responsibilities). - SEND Experience: SENCO experience, working in a specialist school, or holding a recognised Level 3+ SEND qualification. Desirable (But Not Required): - 2+ years of experience delivering approved Science teacher training (ITT, NPQs, ECF, etc.). - 1+ years of 1:1 Biology tutoring experience with Year 9 students.
