Job description

We are seeking an experienced Air Export Operator to join our busy freight forwarding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in air exports who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish while delivering outstanding customer service. You will take ownership of export shipments, ensuring all documentation, customs requirements, and airline bookings are completed accurately and efficiently. Working closely with customers, airlines, suppliers, and internal departments, you will ensure shipments move smoothly from collection through to final destination. Key Responsibilities • Manage air export shipments from booking through to departure. • Arrange collections and coordinate transport with suppliers. • Book cargo with airlines and monitor flight schedules. • Follow customer SOPs and ensure all operational requirements are met. • Prepare export documentation, including MAWBs, HAWBs, B2B and consolidation shipments. • Complete accurate export customs declarations in accordance with HMRC regulations. • Provide proactive updates to customers throughout the shipment lifecycle. • Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, hauliers, customs authorities, and internal teams. • Resolve operational issues quickly to minimise delays. • Ensure shipments are managed both operationally and financially, including accurate costing and invoicing where required. • Maintain excellent customer service and build strong working relationships. Key Skills • Previous experience working within Air Export Freight Forwarding. • Strong knowledge of export documentation, customs procedures, and airline booking processes. • Experience completing UK export customs declarations. • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Good IT skills and experience using freight forwarding systems. • Tuesday-Saturday working pattern (9:30am-6:00pm).
