Air Import OperatorRight Now Group are currently recruiting for an Air Import Operator to join a well-established freight forwarding company based in the Staines area. Our client is seeking a detail-oriented individual to support Air Import operations, ensuring all general freight, customs entries, and dangerous goods shipments are handled compliantly and efficiently. Position: Air Import Operator Location: Staines Hours: Monday - Friday Salary: Up to £34,500 + additional benefits Key Responsibilities for an Air Import Operator: • Coordinate end-to-end Air Import shipments for general freight customers. • Complete and process customs import entries accurately and compliantly. • Handle Dangerous Goods shipments in line with IATA regulations. • Liaise with airlines, handling agents, customers, overseas offices, and transport providers. • Prepare and check all import documentation, including Air Waybills (MAWB/HAWB), customs paperwork, and arrival documentation. • Monitor shipments from arrival through customs clearance to final delivery. • Provide customers with regular shipment updates and resolve any operational issues efficiently. • Ensure all files are completed, costed, and invoiced correctly within agreed timelines. • Maintain compliance with company procedures, HMRC regulations, and import customs requirements. Key Skills for an Air Import Operator: • Previous experience working within Air Import Freight Forwarding. • Strong knowledge of customs import entries. • Experience handling Dangerous Goods shipments (desirable, not essential). • Good understanding of Air Import documentation and customs clearance procedures. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • Ability to manage multiple shipments within a fast-paced operational environment. • Proficient with freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office. • Knowledge of airline arrival procedures, customs compliance, and import operations.
