Applied AI Engineer AI Startup Location: Fully Remote (Europe) Salary: £80,000 - £180,000 + Equity The Role I'm working with a well-funded, stealth AI company building a next-generation AI assistant designed to help people manage everyday tasks, conversations and workflows. The product is still pre-launch, making this a genuine 0?1 opportunity to join a small, high-calibre engineering team and help shape both the product and technical direction from an early stage. They're hiring across multiple levels, from experienced AI Engineers through to Principal Engineers. Key Responsibilities • Build and ship AI features from concept through to production • Design and improve agent workflows, prompts, memory and tool use • Build reliable AI systems that solve real user problems • Improve latency, reliability and overall production performance • Develop evaluation frameworks to measure real-world model quality • Work closely with Product and Engineering to turn ambiguous problems into working software • Help shape technical direction as the product evolves Key Requirements • Commercial experience building production AI/ML applications • Strong Python engineering skills • Experience with modern LLMs and agentic AI systems • Hands-on experience with RAG, vector databases and LLM orchestration • Experience deploying and operating production ML systems • Comfortable working across models, infrastructure and product • Enjoy working in fast-moving, early-stage environments Tech Stack Python * PyTorch * JAX * LLMs * vLLM * Vector Databases * Modern Agent Frameworks Get in touch for more details - McGregor Boyall is an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on any grounds.
