Role Title: Apprentice Civil Engineer Start Date: September 2026 Location: Manchester Job Description: You will work with the support of senior colleagues on flagship and regionally significant schemes across our defence, transport, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and residential portfolios. You will be involved with the production of designs, specifications, technical reports and site supervision. You will be given the opportunity to work towards professional qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will gain experience and understanding of flood risk management, sustainable drainage and highways infrastructure. You will be involved with the design of private and public highways, drainage, including producing specifications, calculations and technical reports. You will gain knowledge of flood risk assessment. You will develop skills in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage. This position will include day release to complete a fully funded professionally accredited BSc or BEng civil engineering degree at University and the duration of this apprenticeship is approximately 60 months Qualification/skills: A minimum of three A levels at Grades A,A,B including Mathematics and Physical Science or equivalent or will have completed a Level 3 extended Apprenticeship as a Civil Engineering Technician. A minimum of Five GCSE's at Grades 9-4/A - C including Maths, English and Science or their equivalent • A keen interest in Civil Engineering • Have good interpersonal and communication skills • Team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility and versatility. • MS Office skills • Self-Motivated • Suitable for SC clearance • Desirable - Full, clean UK driving license and ideally access to a vehicle Application Closing Date: 15 February 2026 Assessment Centre to be held: April 2026 We take pride in delivering projects effectively for clients.
