Assistant Accountant

Role: Assistant Accountant Location: Coventry (office based) Salary: £30-34k 3 Point Recruitment are partnering with a well established and very ambitious business in Coventry to recruit an Assistant Accountant which is needed ASAP! This is an excellent opportunity for a detail oriented and proactive finance professional looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast paced environment. You can gain fantastic exposure with this opportunity and the Financial Controller is keen to progress someone within the business & partner them at month / year end. This role is available immediately and our client is keen to interview suitable candidates right away! The Role As Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function across a broad range of responsibilities. You will work closely with the Financial Controller, contributing to the day to day Purchase & Sales Ledger tasks & then supporting the month end activity. Key Responsibilities • Accounts Payable support • Maintenance and support of the General Ledger • Assistance with management account reconciliations • Banking and cash management activities • Fixed asset management • Stock accounting support • Preparation and submission of VAT returns • Producing & sending reports to the Financial Controller About You We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised and ready to hit the ground running. You will ideally be AAT qualified (working towards / QBE), with experience of working within an SME. Essential • AAT qualification (or actively studying) • Previous experience in a similar finance role • Experience using Sage accounting software • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills • Ability to work effectively in an office-based environment Desirable (but not essential) • Consolidation experience • Exposure to year-end audits • Intercompany accounting experience • Stock accounting experience • VAT returns experience • Experience working with multiple currencies What’s on Offer • Competitive salary of £30-34k • To work with a very supporting Financial Controllers who is keen to grow and develop your career! • A varied, fast paced role with welcoming & vibrant colleagues!
