Assistant Accountant (Part-Qualified)
Manchester City Centre/Hybrid
£33,000–£36,000 + Study Support + bonus + healthcare
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Junior Assistant Accountant to join a growing Manchester based finance hub supporting a wide international footprint. This is an excellent role for someone with 3-5 years’ UK accounting experience who is looking to take the next step in their career, gain broad exposure, and progress towards a full ACCA or CIMA qualification.
You’ll join a collaborative and supportive finance team responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance across multiple international entities. This role offers hands-on experience, professional development, and full study support.
What You’ll Be Doing
Month-End Support & Journals
• Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing and posting journals.
• Help produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support intercompany reconciliations and invoicing.
Statutory & Compliance Support
• Share monthly data with local advisors and support reviews of local GAAP vs management accounts.
• Assist with audit queries and the preparation of statutory information.
• Provide data for VAT and other fiscal submissions.
General Finance & Team Support
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements.
• Work with AP and Billing teams to ensure accurate coding and cost allocations.
• Support ad-hoc finance projects and help maintain strong internal controls.
• Provide data and support for internal reporting requirements.
About You
• 2-3 years’ accounting experience in the UK (essential) ideally in a multi entity, multi currency corporate/professional services business
• Strong bank reconciliation experience
• Experience in VAT Preparation, review and submission
• Part qualified ACCA/CIMA and actively studying with a strong desire to progress.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, “can-do” attitude.
• Keen to learn, develop and take on increasing responsibility.
• Good Excel skills and comfortable working with financial systems/experience using ERP systems is advantageous
• Highly organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines.
• Full right to work in the UK in a permanent role (no sponsorship available).
