Assistant Management Accountant

Assistant Management Accountant job in Bath Your new role Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting the production of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. This position offers excellent exposure across the finance function and would suit a candidate studying towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT. Duties will include: • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts • Produce and post accruals, prepayments and journal entries • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances • Support month-end and year-end close processes • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities • Prepare financial reports and analysis for operational stakeholders • Monitor costs and provide insight into business performance • Support cash flow forecasting and reporting • Assist with fixed asset accounting and reconciliations • Prepare VAT returns and support compliance activities • Work closely with departmental managers to provide financial information • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and reporting requirements What you'll need to succeed • Previous experience in a finance, Assistant Accountant or Management Accounts role • AAT qualified or actively studying ACCA/CIMA • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs • Excellent numerical and analytical abilities • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with non-finance stakeholders What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
