Site Assistant
• Location: NR4
• Job Type: Temporary for 6 weeks
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 6AM until 1:15PM
• Salary: £12.71 per hour

As a Site Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the campus is well-maintained, both inside and out, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and waste management.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
• Routine Maintenance: Empty and clean bins in residential accommodations, follow daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules, and carry out litter picking and external cleaning activities.
• Operational Support: Drive University vehicles for delivery and collection of cleaning services materials, respond to reactive requests for furniture movement or minor maintenance, and maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.
• Safety and Compliance: Operate cleaning equipment safely, maintain secure handling of keys and access equipment, and adhere to health and safety policies including risk assessments and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Customer Interaction: Provide high standards of customer care, assist with queries in a professional manner, and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
• Environmental Responsibility: Uphold the University's Environmental Policy by practicing efficient waste management and energy-saving measures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, particularly within an educational or large facility environment.
• Skills: Ability to operate cleaning machinery and handle various cleaning agents safely.
• Licenses: Valid driving license to operate University vehicles.
• Attributes: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent customer service skills.
• Training: Willingness to undergo training related to specific materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
