We're looking for an ambitious Assistant Trade Development Manager to support the Trade Manager in leading our Import Short Sea Trade Department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with shipping or freight forwarding experience who enjoys leading people, building relationships, analysing performance, and helping drive the success of a busy trade. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service, developing the team, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring the department continues to perform at its best. What You'll Be Doing • Supporting the Trade Manager to maximise commercial opportunities across the Short Sea trade. • Leading, coaching and developing the team through regular one-to-ones, training and performance reviews. • Building strong relationships with origin agents, and key customers. • Monitoring performance, producing reports and analysing trade data. • Managing internal and external meetings with confidence and professionalism. • Working collaboratively with departments across the business to deliver excellent customer service. • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping implement new processes and strategies. What We're Looking For You'll ideally have: • Experience within shipping, freight forwarding or trade management. • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills. • Experience producing reports and interpreting performance data. • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills. • The ability to motivate others, influence change and manage competing priorities. • A proactive, organised approach with a passion for developing both people and processes.
