Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Treasury Accountant on behalf of a well-established global organisation based in Ormskirk.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional looking to develop a career within treasury accounting. Working as part of an experienced finance team, you will support the Treasury Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager in delivering accurate treasury accounting, reporting and banking activities across the Group.
This role offers excellent exposure to treasury operations, financial reporting and banking systems within a large international business, together with hybrid working and genuine career development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany loan balances, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
• Ensure internal lending arrangements remain within agreed limits and investigate any variances.
• Review treasury exposure reports, validating data accuracy and supporting financial risk reporting.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end treasury accounting processes.
• Prepare and post treasury journals and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process entries into the Group consolidation system accurately and within reporting deadlines.
• Support the preparation of monthly interest calculations, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Account for dividend payments and related treasury transactions.
• Maintain treasury management systems and online banking platforms, including user administration and access controls.
• Calculate, process and reconcile banking fees and ensure timely settlement.
• Produce supporting documentation for audits and internal reporting requirements.
• Provide holiday and absence cover for the Treasury Assistant.
• Assist with continuous improvement of treasury processes and controls.
About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:
• AAT qualified, or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Previous experience within an accounting or finance role.
• A sound understanding of accounting principles, particularly cash, loans and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience assisting with month-end processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and formulas.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues across the business.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn within a treasury environment.
