What you will bring to the role The Associate Director of Commercial will provide strategic commercial leadership across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, identifying and delivering opportunities for income growth, innovation and long-term sustainable development. Working closely with executive leaders, clinicians and external partners, the postholder will lead the Trust’s commercial strategy, develop new business opportunities and ensure commercial activities support the Trust’s ambitions in healthcare, research, education and innovation.
• Lead the development and delivery of the Trust's Commercial Strategy to drive revenue growth and support organisational objectives.
• Identify, develop and implement new commercial ventures, partnerships and joint ventures that generate additional income and value for the Trust.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS organisations, universities, industry partners, government bodies and international stakeholders.
• Provide expert commercial advice on business cases, service developments, intellectual property and market opportunities.
• Lead commercial negotiations, tendering exercises, contract management and due diligence activities for major opportunities and agreements.
• Promote a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and commercial awareness across the Trust, working closely with clinical and corporate teams.
• Ensure robust governance, financial oversight and compliance with legal, regulatory and Trust requirements across all commercial activities.
• Act as a senior ambassador for the Trust, raising its profile nationally and internationally while securing opportunities that enhance reputation, income and patient outcomes.
