Azure Engineer, £70k
12 month FTC, London & Remote Working
Bench IT require a skilled Azure Engineer to support the organisation's transition to a cloud-first operating model. The engineer will play a key role in for the design, implementation, and operational management of Azure-based infrastructure services and evolving the infrastructure function from traditional, on-premises server management to a modern, service-oriented cloud platform. The role will ensure Azure services are secure, resilient, cost-effective, and fully supportable within business-as-usual operations.
*Please note this role will be hybrid working 2 – 3 days in London*
The successful candidate will have the have the skills and experience listed below:
Essential
• Proven experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments
• Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure and platform services.
• Some experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, or Terraform).
• Understanding of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity models.
• Experience with Azure identity and access management (Entra ID, RBAC).
• Proficiency in Scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools, particularly Azure Monitor.
• Support and manage Azure infrastructure and platform services.
• Implement and support Azure-native services including PaaS, Azure Backup, monitoring, and AVD.
• Configure and support Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, and hybrid connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute).
• Manage Azure identity and access using Entra ID and RBAC.
Desirable
• Experience implementing or supporting cloud migrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of cost management and cloud financial optimisation.
• Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity in cloud environments.
• Relevant Azure certifications (eg AZ-104, AZ-305).
