Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Phlebotomist. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patient care by providing a high-quality blood collection service across wards and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform venepuncture and capillary blood sampling in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
• Ensure accurate patient identification and correct labelling of specimens
• Deliver a professional, compassionate service to patients at all times
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control
• Accurately record and process samples for laboratory analysis
• Work collaboratively with nursing, medical, and laboratory staff
• Manage workload efficiently during core working hours
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Phlebotomist (NHS experience preferred)
• Competency in venepuncture and blood collection techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and patient dignity
• Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete)
