Band 6 Mammographer

he post holder will work as part of the Breast Imaging team, delivering a high-quality mammography service across screening and symptomatic pathways. The role is suitable for a qualified Band 6 Mammographer working autonomously, or a trainee mammographer undertaking supervised practice while completing an accredited training programme. You will perform a range of mammography examinations in line with national standards, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images and excellent patient care. You will adapt techniques to meet individual patient needs, including more complex cases, and support interventional procedures where appropriate. A key part of the role is providing compassionate, patient-centred care. You will communicate effectively with patients, many of whom may feel anxious or distressed, ensuring dignity, privacy, and informed consent at all times. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and safety, complying with relevant legislation (including IR(ME)R), and participating in quality assurance, audit, and service improvement activities. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the effective running of the service. You will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to continuous professional development.
