Band 7 Mortuary Technician

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician with post-mortem experience to join a professional team on a full-time contract. Role Details • Job Title: Band 7 Mortuary Technician • Specialty: Mortuary Services • Start Date: ASAP • Contract End: 30th September 2026 • Hours: 37.5 hours per week • Shifts: Core working hours • Contract Type: NHS Agency Key Responsibilities • Carry out hospital post-mortem examinations. • Prepare and assist during post-mortem procedures. • Receive, identify and release deceased patients in accordance with Trust policies. • Maintain accurate mortuary documentation and records. • Ensure compliance with HTA legislation and infection prevention procedures. • Support the day-to-day operation of the mortuary service. • Maintain a respectful, dignified and professional environment at all times. Essential Requirements • Certificate or Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology or • NVQ Level 3 in Anatomical Pathology Technology • Previous NHS Mortuary Technician experience. • Competent in carrying out post-mortem examinations. • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety, HTA regulations and infection control. • Right to work in the UK. • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one). • Compliance documentation available for immediate registration.
