Job description

Group Business Intelligence Developer Wakefield (3 days onsite / flexible working) £40,000 – £46,000 – DOE We’re supporting a growing UK-based organisation to appoint a Group BI Developer into their expanding data function. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join at an early stage of a greenfield BI build, working closely with the BI lead to shape how data is used across the business. You won’t be sat building the same reports day in, day out - this role offers end-to-end ownership, from integrating data through to delivering insight that supports real business decisions. The role: • Building and developing a SQL Server data warehouse • Creating and maintaining ETL pipelines across multiple systems • Developing Power BI dashboards, models and reports • Working with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements • Supporting and improving the overall BI environment What we’re looking for: • Solid experience with SQL Server (SSMS / ideally SSIS) • Strong Power BI skills (data modelling, DAX) • Experience working across the full BI lifecycle (not just reporting) • Someone comfortable working independently in a small team • Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, down-to-earth approach This would suit someone with a couple of years’ experience who’s looking for more ownership and variety. You’ll be joining at an early stage, with the opportunity to shape the data landscape rather than inherit legacy ways of working. It’s a broad, hands-on role with exposure across both the technical and stakeholder side, offering real impact across the business and the chance to grow as the function evolves, all within a supportive and down-to-earth team. If you’re currently in a role where you’re mainly building reports from existing data and want to step into something more end-to-end and impactful – this opportunity is well worth a conversation. Please note, this role does not offer sponsorship and interested candiates must have full right to work in the UK.
