To plan, implement and evaluate individualised specialist patient care programmes based on evidence-based practice and the application of clinical reasoning skills. 2. To provide supervision to health care professionals in relation to all aspects of managing incontinence. 3. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work including management of patients in your care. 4. To organise the job role effectively with regards to clinical priorities and use of time. 5. Act as a patient advocate through the application of critical and professional knowledge and skills. 6. The post holder will require a high degree of communication skills in communicating highly sensitive information regarding individuals medical conditions 7. To ensure effective communication with the wider community and Healthcare professionals, to persuade change, influence and improve practice 8. Empathy, reassurance and negotiating skills are required to encourage patient compliance to treatment/management strategies, where there may be significant barriers to understanding in some patient groups e.g. learning disabilities, mental health. 9. Provide advice to palliative care services in the management of incontinence as appropriate. 10. Ensure personal clinical skills are regularly updated as required by Lead Clinician to a specialist level. 11. Participate in research and clinical trials in accordance with Clinical Governance and Trust policy. 12. Involvement of the service user, carers and other professional including clinical management plans where required.
