BookkeeperLocation: Loughton, Essex Salary: Competitive + Benefits Job Type: Full-time | Permanent “Bookkeeper: The only word with three consecutive double letters.” Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice in the Loughton area to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team within a growing practice, where you will work with a varied client portfolio and play a key role in delivering high-quality bookkeeping and financial support services. Your key responsibilities as the Bookkeeper: • Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries. • Processing purchase and sales ledgers accurately and efficiently. • Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring. • Preparing and submitting VAT returns. • Assisting with month-end reporting and management accounts preparation. • Maintaining accurate financial records for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. • Liaising with clients to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial processes. • Supporting accountants and senior team members with ad hoc duties as required. To be considered for this Bookkeeper position, you will require: • Previous experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice. • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations. • Confident using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Strong communication and client-facing skills. • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple client deadlines.
