ookkeeperLocation: Porth, South Wales Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Porth, South Wales. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the accounts function. We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities • Managing the day-to-day accounts function. • Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers. • Processing invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations. • Monitoring cash flow and assisting with credit control where required. • Preparing and submitting payroll information to external accountants. • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end procedures. • Ensuring financial records are kept up to date and compliant. • Providing general bookkeeping and finance support as required. Essential Requirements • Previous experience in a bookkeeping role. • Essential: Experience working with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and double-entry accounting. • Experience managing purchase and sales ledgers. • Payroll administration experience, including preparing payroll information for external accountants. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong organisational and time management skills. • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. • Good IT skills, including experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Desirable • AAT qualification or equivalent, or qualified by experience. • Experience working within the construction industry. • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software.
