Job description
You'll play a key role in helping a growing commercial insurance broking team deliver high-quality advice and service. This isn't a heavy compliance role - it's about supporting your colleagues, sharing your expertise, and shaping best practice across the team.
It's compliance with a 'small c' - making sure the team is following best practice and offering excellent service to clients, without heavy reporting, complaints management, or FCA/PRA oversight.
What you'll do:
• Review files across new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments to maintain quality and consistency.
• Provide practical feedback and coaching to help colleagues grow.
• Identify trends and training needs to improve team performance.
• Work with operational and technical colleagues to enhance processes.
• Influence team culture and help raise standards across the business.
What you'll bring:
• Strong commercial insurance experience, ideally in broking or underwriting.
• Experience in file reviews, quality assurance, or technical assurance.
• Confidence in giving constructive feedback and coaching.
• Analytical skills to spot trends and patterns.
• Good communication and collaborative skills.
What's in it for you:
• Autonomy and responsibility to shape team performance.
• Hybrid working (around 60% home-based).
• Competitive pay up to £55,000 plus 10-15% bonus, pension, and 25 days' leave + bank holidays.
• Supportive, growing team where your expertise is valued.
• Work-life balance and wellbeing benefits.
If you want to use your commercial insurance experience to make a real difference, support colleagues, and take on more responsibility, this role in Birmingham / West Midlands could be your next step.
