Job description

REED FE are seeking a Technician Building Services to support our Building Services curriculum in the East London area. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our workshops, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and well-stocked for practical teaching sessions. Technician Building Services • Hourly Rate: £15.65ph 0 £18.15ph • Location: London, East • Job Type: 36 hours per week, Temp Mon - Fri Day-to-day of the role of a Technician : • Prepare and maintain tools, materials, and equipment for building services courses. • Monitor and report on stock levels of materials such as pipes, cables, fittings, and fixtures, and replenish stock as required. • Ensure that workshops are tidy, safe, and fully prepared for practical teaching sessions. • Assist tutors during practical sessions as needed. • Provide technical guidance and support during curriculum delivery. • Promote and support good student behaviour in practical settings. • Work collaboratively with the Building Services teaching team and participate in departmental meetings. • Uphold and implement the College’s safeguarding, health & safety, and equality policies. • Engage in professional development opportunities and train as a first aider if not already qualified. Required Skills & Qualifications needed for the Technician role: • Qualified to at least Level 2/3 in a vocational discipline, preferably Plumbing/Electrical. • Good IT skills. • Competence in using hand and power tools. • Relevant and recent industry experience. • Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
