Position: Business Development Manager Region: UK & Europe Sector: Cleanroom & Controlled Environment Systems Salary: Circa £55,000 - £67,000 (more dependent upon experience) + car + bonus + benefits Business Development Manager - Cleanroom & Controlled Environment Systems £55,000 - £67,000 Basic + Uncapped Bonus + Company Car + Benefits Home-Based | UK & International Travel Our client is a specialist UK manufacturer with an established reputation for delivering high-performance solutions into pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare and highly regulated industrial environments. As part of an ambitious growth strategy, they are looking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Manager to take ownership of a flagship cleanroom product portfolio and drive growth across the UK and key international markets. This is an opportunity for a technically credible sales professional who thrives in specification-led environments and enjoys converting complex project opportunities into commercial success. The Opportunity This role is focused on developing and growing sales of a high-specification cleanroom panel system used within some of the world's most demanding controlled environments. Working closely with technical specialists and senior leadership, you will be responsible for managing long sales cycles, protecting specifications, influencing key stakeholders and converting opportunities into profitable orders. The position offers significant autonomy, direct access to decision-makers and genuine long-term career progression for the right individual. Key Responsibilities • Identify, develop and secure new project opportunities across target sectors. • Manage complex specification-led sales cycles from initial engagement through to purchase order. • Build relationships with consultants, architects, contractors, engineering teams and end users. • Protect and convert specifications through effective stakeholder management. • Develop opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, healthcare and controlled-environment markets. • Grow and develop strategic partner and distributor relationships. • Monitor competitor activity and provide market intelligence. • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales reporting and forecasting. • Represent the business at customer meetings, technical workshops, industry events and exhibitions. • Work closely with internal technical, operations and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes. About You We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate a successful track record within specification-led technical sales environments. Suitable backgrounds may include: • Cleanroom systems • Controlled environment solutions • Pharmaceutical construction • Life sciences facilities • HVAC and clean air systems • Contamination control • Laboratory solutions • Specialist building systems • Technical construction products • Building envelope systems You will ideally have experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Proven business development or specification sales experience. • Experience selling into pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare or regulated industrial markets. • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of winning project-based business. • The ability to engage confidently with engineers, consultants, contractors and procurement teams. • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills. • A proactive, resilient and highly organised approach. • A willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally. Experience within cleanroom or controlled-environment solutions would be highly advantageous, although candidates from closely related technical sectors will also be considered.
