Buyer Location: Filton, Bristol (80% onsite) Rate: £26.41 per hour PAYE / £35.33 per hour Umbrella Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5-day working week) Contract: Until August 2027 with potential extension Security Clearance: BPSS (completed by Airbus Security) Shape the Future of Aerospace Procurement Guidant Global is partnering with Airbus to recruit a Buyer within the Detailed Parts Commodity team based in Filton. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic procurement function responsible for sourcing and managing critical detail parts that support Airbus programmes across its global manufacturing and final assembly network. You'll work with international suppliers, internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality components that support some of the world's most advanced aerospace programmes. What You'll Be Doing As a Buyer, you'll play a key role in managing supplier contracts and driving procurement excellence across a complex and fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include: • Acting as the primary point of contact for assigned supplier contracts across Airbus commercial programmes • Building and managing strong supplier relationships to maximise value, performance and collaboration • Leading procurement projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives • Working closely with Design, Programme, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams to deliver business objectives • Monitoring supplier performance across quality, delivery, support and logistics requirements • Ensuring contractual terms and conditions are effectively implemented and managed throughout the contract lifecycle • Supporting and delivering supplier improvement plans where required • Negotiating pricing agreements and contributing to cost reduction initiatives to support business targets • Maintaining accurate pricing information within SAP and ensuring purchase orders are managed effectively • Managing Call for Tender (CFT) activities, coordinating stakeholder input and presenting recommendations to management teams • Contributing to procurement and supply chain strategies that drive innovation and strengthen the supply base • Supporting the development of future sourcing approaches and supplier partnerships What We're Looking For We're interested in hearing from commercially minded professionals who can confidently engage with stakeholders and suppliers in a collaborative and proactive manner. You'll ideally have: • Experience within procurement, purchasing, supply chain or commercial environments • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills • Experience managing multiple suppliers and competing priorities • Knowledge of tendering and sourcing activities • Good commercial, contract or financial awareness • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills • Excellent communication and influencing abilities • A customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills • The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment • Basic SAP knowledge (desirable) Desirable Industry Background Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with experience in: • Aerospace • Defence • Naval or marine engineering • Manufacturing • Engineering-led environments Transferable procurement experience from complex industrial sectors will also be considered.
