Your new company This Buyer role is based within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment, focusing on sourcing raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods to support production and customer demand. Your new role • Source and purchase raw materials, packaging, and consumables in line with production schedules. • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve the best value while maintaining quality. • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness. • Monitor stock levels and manage replenishment to avoid shortages or excess. • Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities. • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and company policies. • Collaborate with production, planning, and logistics teams to align purchasing with operational needs. • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and supplier agreements using ERP systems. What you'll need to succeed • Previous experience in buying or procurement within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar fast-paced environment. • Strong negotiation and communication skills. • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. • Analytical mindset with attention to detail. • CIPS qualification or working towards it. • Knowledge of fresh produce supply chains and seasonal sourcing.
