Buyer (6-month Contract) – Sheffield – Competitive salary Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to be recruiting for a dynamic precision engineering business in Sheffield who are looking for a Buyer to support their team on an initial 6-month basis with a view to extend. As a Buyer, you will manage supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient material flow, support new business bids, and optimise the supply chain while maintaining high service levels. Hours: 8am – 4pm (Monday – Thursday) and 8am-1pm (Friday) Key Duties: • Manage daily purchasing activity, raising orders, chasing late deliveries and keeping the system up to date as demand changes • Build strong supplier relationships, negotiating good terms, putting agreements in place and holding regular reviews to keep performance on track • Work closely with teams across the business, from engineering and quality to estimating, helping them source the right suppliers at the right price • Keep on top of the detail, sorting invoice queries, managing returns and making sure the right paperwork and approvals are in place • Track and report on performance, including cost savings, supplier delivery and weekly updates to senior leadership • Help reduce waste and improve ways of working, managing slow-moving stock and supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain Required skills & experience: • Previous experience in a technical environment (precision engineering, oil & gas, aerospace, automotive etc with exposure to technical drawings (essential) • MRP experience and strong Excel skills (essential) • Strong communication/negotiation skills About Elevation Elevation Recruitment Group is a specialist recruitment consultancy that helps people build long-term, successful careers.
