Overview
International SME manufacturing business require experienced Buyer to ensure all necessary components are procured to facilitate the on-site production process. to be based at superb offices in Slough, Berkshire.
About the role
Working within a dynamic and proactive team the Buyer is a critical role to ensure production runs smoothly by managing the timely procurement of essential components and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Key duties include:
• Sourcing and purchasing key components and materials to ensure a timely, cost-effective, and high quality production process
• Ensuring adherence to the company budget whilst meeting company production schedules
• Supplier Management through building and maintaining strong working relations
• Identify and evaluate new suppliers
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Manage inventory levels by strategic ordering to maintain adequate stock and prevent shortages or overstocking
• Analyse market & pricing trends and and identify opportunities to reduce costs or improve supply chain efficiency
• Work closely with production, quality control, finance, and logistics departments to align procurement activities with operational needs
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, update ERP systems, and ensure adherence to procurement policies and statutory requirements
About you
• You will have a proven track record as a Buyer, with a minimum of 2 years experience and ideally have gained experience within a challenging, manufacturing environment
• Applicants will be Graduate calibre with strong systems skills including proficiency in ERP and MS Excel
• The jobholder will have strong analytical ability, excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate whilst maintaining strong business relations
