Job description

CNC Machinist Programmer (CAD/CAM)Location: Sheffield Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established and growing manufacturing business to recruit a CAD/CAM Engineer for their Sheffield operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering company with a diverse project portfolio spanning manufacturing, automotive, tooling, themed products and bespoke engineering solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role within a fast-paced technical team, taking projects from customer concept through to CNC manufacture. The RoleAs a CAD/CAM Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and developing CAD models, generating CNC programmes, operating CNC machinery, and supporting quality inspection processes. You will work on a wide variety of projects, from one-off components and jigs to larger-scale bespoke products. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be involved throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring customer requirements are met while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency and accuracy. Key Responsibilities • Create and develop 2D and 3D CAD models using industry-standard software • Convert customer drawings and models into production-ready CAD data • Generate CNC programmes and toolpaths using CAM software • Set up, operate and maintain CNC machinery • Produce detailed engineering drawings to required standards • Liaise with customers to ensure technical specifications and project requirements are met • Utilise 3D scanning and metrology equipment for inspection and quality verification • Inspect finished products, identifying and resolving quality issues where required • Prepare products for dispatch and support delivery processes • Monitor stock levels and report shortages proactively • Accurately record time spent on projects and jobs • Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity and process efficiency • Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures What we are looking for: • Experience using CAD and CAM software packages • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • Good communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Reliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Experience of CNC programming and machining • Knowledge of 3D scanning equipment and metrology software • Manufacturing or engineering industry experience What's on Offer • Opportunity to join a growing and successful manufacturing business • Varied and interesting project work • Supportive team environment • Long-term career development opportunities • 4 day working week with the option for overtime on a Friday or Saturday should you wish For more information or to apply, please contact
