Job description

Capital & Estates Contract Manager Salary: Up to £62,000 per annum - depending on skills and experience Location: Gloucestershire (hybrid working with some cross-site presence required) About the Role: We are supporting the appointment of a Capital & Estates Contract Manager within a high-performing NHS environment. This is a pivotal commercial role responsible for managing a portfolio of complex, high-value contracts across capital, estates and facilities services. You will play a key role in ensuring robust commercial governance, effective contract performance, and delivery of value for money, while supporting a broad range of operational and corporate stakeholders. Working closely with senior leaders, you will provide specialist contractual and commercial advice, lead supplier relationship management, and contribute to the development of commercial strategies aligned to organisational objectives. This is a hybrid role with regular cross-site working across Gloucestershire. What You’ll Be Doing: • Lead the end-to-end management of complex, high-value contracts within capital, estates, and facilities • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs, quality standards, and financial frameworks • Identify risks, underperformance, and compliance issues, implementing corrective actions • Provide expert commercial and contractual advice to operational and corporate stakeholders • Manage contract variations, ensuring appropriate governance, financial scrutiny, and documentation • Support procurement activity including tendering, mobilisation, and contract transitions • Drive supplier relationship management and performance review processes • Contribute to commercial reporting, performance dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives • Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations and internal governance requirements Who We’re Looking For: • A commercially astute contract management professional with experience managing complex, high-value contracts • Strong understanding of public sector procurement, governance frameworks, and commercial best practice • Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders across operational and corporate functions • Experience in supplier management, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution • Excellent financial acumen, with the ability to analyse budgets and contract performance • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills • Ideally CIPS qualified (Level 5+) or able to demonstrate equivalent experience • Experience within NHS or wider public sector environments is desirable Working Environment: • Hybrid working with regular cross-site presence across Gloucestershire hospitals • Exposure to complex, high-value contracts and a broad stakeholder landscape • Opportunity to work within a collaborative commercial and estates function • A role offering both operational impact and strategic contribution Contact Us: For a confidential discussion and the full job description, please contact: John Lavictoire Director – Seymour John Public Services Seymour John will manage all applications, and any third-party submissions will be automatically redirected to us.
