Casting TechnicianNewquay | 28,000 per annum / £14.36 per hour | Monday - Thursday, 7:30am-4pm and Friday 7.30am - 1pm| Full Time Permanent Position IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a modern and busy manufacturing company in Newquay that is seeking a Part-Time Casting Technician. The successful candidate will follow process instructions for casting operations, ensuring that daily production is completed in line with the production plan. You will work within company health and safety guidelines and follow 5S procedures to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Key Duties • Understand production planning and work to tight daily schedules. • Use Microsoft Excel confidently. • Handle and use epoxy resins and other raw materials safely. • Follow internal SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and process instructions. • Support manufacturing and production processes. • Operate semi-automated and manual mixing equipment. • Program ovens for weekend curing cycles. • Work safely and efficiently at all times. • Maintain high housekeeping standards using 5S methodology. • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements • Previous experience in a casting environment or a similar manufacturing role. • Good understanding of manufacturing and production processes. • Physically fit and capable of manual handling and heavy lifting (lifting aids are provided). • Knowledge of continuous improvement activities. • Strong technical aptitude with good problem-solving skills. • Willingness to cross-train across all functions within the casting cell. • Approachable and supportive, with the ability to assist colleagues across different departments. • Able to work effectively within a small team and collaborate with the wider production workforce. • Flexible and willing to undertake additional duties as directed by the Lead Technician or Production Supervisor.
