Child and Family Support Worker - CAMHS (Fixed-term)

This is an opportunity to join a dedicated CAMHS Therapeutic Education team supporting some of the most vulnerable children and young people in Somerset. You'll work directly with young people experiencing a range of complex emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties, helping them overcome barriers to learning, engagement and personal development. Through consistent support, encouragement and therapeutic approaches, you'll help create safe, nurturing environments where young people can feel understood, valued and empowered. Working under the guidance of experienced clinicians, you'll contribute to assessments, gather and share important information about a young person's wellbeing, and support the delivery of agreed interventions and care plans. You'll play an active role in helping young people access education, participate in therapeutic activities and achieve meaningful personal goals. You'll also work closely with parents, carers, foster carers, residential staff, schools and external agencies, offering practical guidance and support that strengthens the wider network around each child. Your ability to communicate sensitively, build effective partnerships and maintain professional boundaries will be central to your success. We're looking for someone with experience of working with children and young people, ideally within a mental health, education, social care or support setting. You'll bring excellent communication and relationship-building skills, a strong understanding of safeguarding, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
