Social Worker - Duty and Advice • Location: Oldham • Job Type: Full-time Join our multi-agency team as a Duty and Advice Social Worker, where you will play a crucial role in safeguarding children and families in Greater Manchester. This position involves working closely with various agencies including the police, health services, community safety, and adult social care to ensure effective communication and decision-making. Day-to-day of the role: • Respond promptly to contacts made to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), assessing the needs and risks to determine the most appropriate services for support and safeguarding. • Communicate effectively with families, partner agencies, and the public to gather detailed information necessary for informed, evidence-based decision-making. • Ensure all decisions align with practice standards and statutory duties, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. • Collaborate with team members from different agencies to enhance service delivery and outcomes for children and families. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Qualified Social Worker with registration. • Proven experience in a similar role within a multi-agency setting. • Strong understanding of statutory social work functions and confident in making threshold decisions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of handling sensitive situations with empathy and discretion. • Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions quickly.
