Class 1 Casual Driver Location: Cullompton Shift: Casual / Zero Hours – no guaranteed work or fixed hours Do you have a UK Class 1 Licence? If “YES,” we want to hear from you! About the Role As a Casual Driver, you will: • Carry out trunking operations from our Cullompton depot to hubs in Ernesettle, Mitchell, or Southampton, using a temperature-controlled trailer to deliver chilled and ambient loads. • Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed. • Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability. • Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met. • Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices. Essential Skills and Qualifications • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence. • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card. • Previous experience delivering to convenience stores is advantageous, but not essential. • A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously. • The ability to work to tight schedules while maintaining high safety standards. • A positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently when required. • Good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness. This includes holiday pay. PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour. • Shift Hours: Various shifts and start times available. Hours offered on a casual, as-required basis.
