Class 1 HGV Shunter – WakefieldLocation: Wakefield Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off Hours: 06:00 – 18:00 Pay Rate: £15.00 - £16.00 per hour (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-Time We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV Shunter to join a well-established and growing operation based in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers looking for a site-based role with no road work involved, offering excellent work-life balance on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. The Role • Shunting trailers around a busy distribution site • Moving vehicles safely between loading bays and designated areas • Conducting vehicle checks and reporting any defects • Working closely with warehouse and transport teams • Ensuring all site safety procedures are followed Requirements • Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card • Previous shunting experience preferred, but not essential • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently What We Offer • Competitive pay rate of £15.00 - £16.00 per hour, depending on experience • Full-time hours on a consistent 4 on, 4 off rota • No road driving – entirely site-based work • Friendly and supportive working environment • Opportunity to secure a permanent position after 12 weeks • Immediate starts available for suitable candidates If you're an experienced Class 1 driver looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with a great company, we'd love to hear from you.
