Class 2 Driver (Hookloader / Roll-On-Off) - CambridgeLocation: Waterbeach, Cambridge Working Pattern: Thursday to Monday (5 days) Hours: 05:30-15:30 (30-minute unpaid break) Pay: Hourly basic rate + weekend working allowance (£55 per weekend day worked) Overtime: Occasional overtime available Contract Length: Until October 2026 Role Type:Class 2 Driver - Hookloader / Roll-On-Off About the RoleA long-term opportunity has become available for an experienced Class 2 Driver to operate a Hookloader (Roll-On-Off) 6/8-wheel vehicle. The role is based at the Waterbeach depot and involves servicing household recycling centres across the county, collecting large containers and transporting them to designated disposal points. This is a stable assignment running until October 2026, offering consistent daytime hours and weekend allowances. Key Responsibilities • Operating a Class 2 Roll-On-Off / Hookloader vehicle • Collecting large containers from household recycling sites across the county • Transporting waste materials to various disposal points • Ensuring safe loading, unloading and movement of containers • Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining compliance standards • Working independently across multiple site locations Requirements • Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence • Experience operating hookloader / roll-on-off vehicles • Good understanding of safe loading and waste-handling procedures • Ability to work Thursday-Monday shift pattern • Reliability, strong time-keeping and safe working practices • Comfortable working independently across multiple sites Pay & Benefits • Competitive hourly rate • £55 weekend working allowance per Saturday and Sunday worked (£110 total for both days) • Consistent daytime hours • Occasional overtime available • Long-term contract until October 2026 How to ApplyIf you are an experienced Class 2 Hookloader Driver looking for a long-term role in Cambridge, please get in touch to discuss this opportunity.
