Cleaning Operative

Gym Cleaner (4 on / 4 off) SBG Services Ltd Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off, 3 hours per shift, averaging around 10.5 hours per week About the role We are looking for a reliable Gym Cleaner to keep a busy gym clean, safe and presentable for members and staff. You will work a 4 on, 4 off rota, so four days on then four days off, shared with one other cleaner so the gym is covered every day of the week. Shifts are 3 hours long and the start time depends on the day: • Monday and Tuesday: 10pm start • Wednesday to Friday: 9pm start • Saturday: 6pm start • Sunday: 4pm start You will work whichever of these days fall within your four days on, so your start times move across the rota. What you will be doing • Cleaning and sanitising all gym equipment, including cardio and resistance machines, free weights, benches and mats • Disinfecting high-touch points such as handles, rails, screens and lockers • Cleaning, sanitising and restocking changing rooms, showers and toilets • Mopping, vacuuming and maintaining gym floors, studios and matted areas • Cleaning mirrors, glass, reception and communal areas • Emptying bins and managing waste and recycling • Following the daily cleaning schedule and completing the cleaning checklist each shift • Using colour-coded equipment and diluting chemicals safely • Putting out wet floor signs and working safely and politely around members • Reporting any faults, hazards, low stock or damage to your supervisor What we are looking for • Reliable and punctual, and happy to work a 4 on, 4 off rota including weekends and late evening shifts • Good attention to detail and pride in your work • Able to work on your own and manage your time on shift • Eligible to work in the UK and willing to have a Basic DBS check • Previous cleaning experience, ideally in a gym or leisure setting, is helpful but not essential as full training is provided What we offer • Real Living Wage • Full training with a clear path to progress • Uniform and PPE provided • A supportive team that values you Pay: £15.00 per hour Benefits: • Company pension • Employee discount • Free parking • Gym membership • On-site parking Work Location: In person
