Job description

Support Staff Cleaning Operative We welcome applications for this support post to commence as soon as possible. The Role To ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the college and/or the college’s partner site, Lancaster University School of Mathematics, by maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the sites as directed, aligned with the college’s commitment to health and safety. The role will require flexibility to work at either the main college site or the partner site, Lancaster University School of Mathematics, as needed. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include: • Emptying and cleaning all internal bins and disposing of the rubbish to the external bins • Cleaning toilets and sinks and mopping the floor area in toilets daily • Cleaning all teaching and office desk spaces • Working flexibly in response to change that is implemented to meet college requirements. The Successful Candidate Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic and experienced candidate to join our friendly and well established Estates department. The Estates department is looking for someone who has at least 1 years experience in a similar role and environment, is able to manage work area and time efficiently and is able to work as part of a team. You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults. Terms and Conditions Hours: 14 hours per week, 42 weeks per year. Hours to be worked on either an AM or PM shift pattern; AM – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 6.00am – 8.45am, Wednesday 6.00am – 9.00am. PM – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 4.15pm – 7.00pm, Wednesday 4.00pm – 7.00pm. Salary: The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine at point 3 (£13.45 per hour) - pro rata to £25,949 per annum (inclusive of £1,190 per annum living wage top-up).
