Cleansing Operative
• Location: Sheffield
• Salary: £13.45 per hour
• Job Type: Part-time, Temporary
• Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 4pm to 7pm (18 hours per week)
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to be responsible for the operational delivery of cleaning services across various buildings in Sheffield. This role requires ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the designated areas/sites.
• Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations while using appropriate cleaning equipment and materials.
• Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, scrubbing, sanitising, vacuum cleaning, polishing, and dusting as required.
• Manage waste in food halls and public spaces, operate dishwashers, and ensure proper storage of cleaning tools.
• Utilize specific ICT systems for service delivery and comply with all policies regarding their use.
• Conduct specialist or deep cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing and polishing as needed.
• Report any damages or defects to the supervisor or designated officer.
• Work independently or as part of a team to deliver effective cleaning services and support the overall statutory compliance programme.
• Assist in the porterage of items and setting up of spaces according to predetermined layouts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, and proper storage and disposal methods.
• Basic understanding of health and safety in a cleaning environment.
• Functional level of literacy and numeracy to complete basic written records and understand written instructions.
• Ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision.
