Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Associate to join a nationally recognised legal team based in Leeds. This role is ideal for a driven professional with experience in healthcare litigation or personal injury who is keen to work on high-quality defendant clinical negligence matters within a supportive and forward-thinking firm. About the Role You will manage a varied and engaging caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims on behalf of a diverse client base, including NHS Trusts, NHS Resolution, medical defence organisations, independent healthcare providers and medical malpractice insurers. Key Responsibilities • Managing a broad caseload of defendant clinical negligence files from instruction through to resolution • Drafting legal documents, preparing court bundles and meeting all court and procedural deadlines • Attending client meetings, settlement discussions and mediations • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice • Working in accordance with client protocols, internal procedures and regulatory requirements • Supporting team initiatives such as training sessions, knowledge sharing, client seminars and business development Requirements • Qualified Solicitor or Associate with experience in clinical negligence, personal injury, or insurance litigation • Experience working with NHS Resolution or medical defence organisations is desirable but not essential • Strong drafting, analytical and case management skills, with experience using electronic case management systems • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a pragmatic and commercial approach to workload • Outstanding communication and client care skills, with a professional and empathetic manner • A collaborative team player, willing to mentor and support junior colleagues What's on Offer? • Competitive salary and benefits package dependent on experience • Hybrid and flexible working options • Clear career development and progression opportunities • An inclusive, supportive and collaborative team environment • Regular professional training, mentoring and development opportunities • The chance to contribute to thought leadership, publications and sector events This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the country's leading clinical negligence teams, offering exposure to high-quality work and excellent prospects for career growth.
