CLINICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT (CSA) Band 4 | £28,392 - £31,157 per annum (pro rata) (Band 3 until completion of competencies) Full time and Part time position available (Monday - Friday) Based in our Day Patient Unit at our Hospice - Winsley, Wiltshire WHY THIS ROLE? Our Clinical Support Assistants (CSAs) play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to patients and their loved ones during some of life's most challenging and significant moments. Working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will deliver therapeutic activities and provide education and support to patients, promoting the rehabilitative model of palliative care. Working across our Day Patient Services and in the community, you will support people to live as fully and independently as possible, focusing on what's important to them as individuals. This might include supporting with symptom management, delivering education sessions in our Day Patient Unit or delivering an exercise programme in our gym. This role is also a chance to grow your confidence and skills in a supportive team environment, learning from a range of experienced professionals while developing your own approach to delivering truly person-centred and compassionate care. WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE? As a Clinical Support Assistant, you will work under the guidance of registered clinicians as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver high-quality care and support. Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting patients, families and carers through holistic, person-centred care and treatment, both in group settings and on a 1:1 basis • Assisting with multidisciplinary assessments and care planning, helping to identify individual needs and personalised goals • Delivering therapeutic activities alongside clinicians, including in Day Patient Services, inpatient care, community venues and virtual settings • Monitoring and reporting changes in patients physical, psychological, social or spiritual wellbeing to the clinical team • Supporting patients to engage in advance care planning and informed decision-making about their care • Maintaining accurate clinical records using systems such as SystmOne, ensuring high standards of documentation and governance • Working collaboratively with internal teams, volunteers and external professionals to provide coordinated care and support • Contributing to service development, quality improvement and the overall patient experience See our full detailed Job Description on our website for more information.
