CNC Machinist Join a Growing Precision Engineering Business We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision-engineered components. Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you'll play a key role in delivering parts to exacting standards for customers operating in highly demanding industries. The Role As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and monitoring CNC machine tools to manufacture components to specification, ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery targets are consistently achieved. You will work closely with production teams, engineers, and quality personnel to maintain high manufacturing standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Key Responsibilities • Set and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines. • Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and specifications. • Produce parts to tight tolerances and quality requirements. • Set tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets. • Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments where necessary. • Identify and resolve machining, tooling, and quality issues. • Complete production documentation and records accurately. • Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S standards. • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities. • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures. What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience • Previous experience operating and setting CNC machine tools. • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications. • Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances. • Experience using precision inspection equipment, including: • Micrometers • Verniers • Bore Gauges • Plug Gauges • Good understanding of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing techniques. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable Experience • Experience with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls. • Milling and turning experience. • Aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience. • Experience with multi-axis CNC machinery. • Knowledge of OEE/FourJaw systems. • Experience using CMM or Opticline inspection equipment.
