Job description

Manual Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing Wild Recruitment is partnering with a leading Aerospace manufacturer to recruit an experienced Manual Machinist. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team in a precision engineering environment. Contract: Until July 2027 Key Responsibilities • Set up and operate manual machine tools including Jig Bores, lathes, and mills. • Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications. • Manufacture and rework components to tight tolerances and surface finishes. • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges, DTI's). • Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning. • Accurately complete production and quality documentation. • Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure compliance with design intent and customer requirements. What We're Looking For • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist / Toolmaker in precision engineering or aerospace. • Skilled in working with various materials and castings. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred). • Competent in using precision measuring equipment. • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset. • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team. • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
