CNC Milling Setter Operator (5 Axis) Location: Chelmsford Salary: Competitive (DOE) Full-time | Permanent Are you an experienced CNC Milling Setter Operator looking to work with advanced machinery in a high-quality manufacturing environment? We’re partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturer who is looking to strengthen their team with a skilled operator capable of setting, programming and running CNC milling machines. The Role You’ll be responsible for producing precision-engineered components to exact specifications, ensuring all work meets high quality standards and customer deadlines. Key responsibilities include: • Setting, programming and operating CNC Milling machines • Working with Doosan, Brother and Matsuura 5-axis machines • Manufacturing components in line with production plans and customer requirements • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and tolerances • Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection • Setting tooling, adjusting offsets, and optimising machine performance • Completing route cards and quality documentation • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives • Maintaining a clean, safe and efficient working environment About You We’re looking for a detail-focused and proactive individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work. You will ideally have: • Proven experience as a CNC Milling Setter/Operator (5-axis desirable) • Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings • Experience using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, calipers) • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • A team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently Candidates with CNC turning or sliding head experience (e.g. Nakamura / Citizen) who are keen to transition into milling will also be considered.
