CNC Turning Setter Operator Location: Chelmsford, Essex Salary: DOE + Benefits Full-Time | Permanent The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Turning Setter Operator to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment, producing high-quality components to exact specifications. We are open to candidates across the UK, with relocation considered for the right individual. Key Responsibilities • Set up, program, and operate CNC turning machines (including Nakamura and Citizen sliding head lathes) • Manufacture components in line with production plans and customer deadlines • Ensure all parts meet engineering drawings and tight tolerances • Adjust tooling, offsets, and make program edits to optimise performance • Conduct first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring tools • Complete route cards and maintain accurate quality documentation • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain efficient production flow • Maintain machine upkeep and a clean, safe working environment What We’re Looking For • Proven experience as a CNC Turning Setter / Operator • Experience with sliding head lathes (Citizen, Nakamura preferred) • Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings • Strong inspection skills using tools such as micrometers, verniers, and calipers • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team What’s on Offer • Competitive salary and benefits package • Opportunity to work with advanced CNC machinery • Stable, long-term position with development opportunities • Supportive team environment focused on quality and continuous improvement Interested?
