Commercial Finance Manager | Chorley | Paying upto £85k | Hybrid 3 days home + 2 days office
Robert Half is exclusively partnering with a private equity-backed, technology-enabled business based in Lancashire to recruit a Commercial Finance Manager.
The business is going through an exciting period of growth, with an expanding international footprint and a strategy focused on both organic development and acquisition. As part of that growth, they are looking to strengthen the commercial capability within finance and appoint someone who can turn data into meaningful insight and support better decision-making across the group.
Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, this is a visible and broad commercial role working closely with senior leadership, Sales and operational teams.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and improve commercial and operational KPI reporting.
• Build dashboards and reporting tools that provide clear visibility of performance.
• Analyse results against budget, forecast and prior year, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities.
• Produce the monthly board pack and provide clear commentary for senior leadership and investors.
• Partner with Sales and operational teams to improve commercial performance.
• Build financial models to support pricing, new business opportunities, tenders and contract renewals.
• Assess the financial viability of new commercial proposals.
• Support acquisition activity through financial analysis, due diligence and post-acquisition performance tracking.
• Provide ad hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making across the group.
About youThe successful candidate will ideally be:
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or able to demonstrate equivalent commercial finance experience.
• Experienced in FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering.
• Strong in financial modelling, Excel and data analysis.
• Comfortable working with large and complex datasets.
• Confident presenting financial information to senior and non-finance stakeholders.
• Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable challenging assumptions.
• Experienced in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
Experience of Power BI, Tableau or another reporting tool would be advantageous. Exposure to M&A, due diligence, pricing or tender support would also be beneficial, but is not essential.
